| Begin each workout with a warm-up. During these intense, speed-oriented workouts you will be focusing on quality rowing at or near race pace. Make it a point to achieve the best possible scores with the utmost efficiency. You fatigue by expending energy. Don't use valuable energy to support poor technique (i.e. tension in shoulders at catch, jerking the swing, etc). You need that energy to push yourself and your results to the next level. Be smooth and efficient and powerful. If you're working out in a group, pick a stroke and all row together. Finish each workout with a cool down and a long stretch. |
